Welcome to the class information for Kangaroos, Koalas & Wombats. The curriculum newsletters below show the plans for each term.
Marsupials have traveled way back in time to the stone age!
All classes will be exploring the Stone Age through time lines and ways of life. They are studying "Stone Age Boy" by Satoshi Kitamura to write their own stories with an element of time travel.
Year 3 and 4 have been exploring tools that early man used to hunt and gather food. Kangaroos have made their own Stone Age tools with materials that they gathered.
In Maths, Marsulpials have finished work on telling the time using 24 hour clocks and those with digital faces. They are moving onto Data Handling, including presenting data in a variety of ways, which includes bar charts, pictograms and tally charts.
Music and Dance
In our Music lessons we are starting to produce rhythmic percussive pieces that will enable us to dance to music even when there’s no electricity.
Mr Peake has been teaching us to dance our own versions of the Hakka.
We expounded our thoughts
With beautifully poetic lines
Of varying length
The numbers of syllables
Are not as strictly set in stone
As some of you may think
And later in the hall
With eye-contact and expressive sound
We showed work to friends.
