Welcome to the Key Stage One online classroom!
On this page you will find a range of resources that will help to keep your children learning until they can return to school. If you have any questions about any of the work on this page, please email your child’s class teacher. We would also love for you to email us your child's work. English Lesson - Tuesday 5th January 2021Today we would like you to write about some news that you would like to tell your teacher. This could be something you did at school yesterday or something you have done at home over the holidays. We would love to see this over email today. Don't forget all of the things we look for in your writing. Use the checklist below to edit and improve your writing.
- Capital letters - Full stops - Checking your spellings - have you used your phonics to help you with spellings you are unsure of? - Exciting adjectives - Conjunctions - Year 2, can you improve your sentence openers? Don't forget that each day you should also be using Oxford Owl to read for at least 10 minutes a day. Children in Year 1 should be reading books from Phase 5, Set 13. Children in Year 2 should be reading their colour band books.

Today, Year 1 will be practising the /n/ family focusing on the 'kn' and 'gn' spellings of the /n/ sound. Please watch the video here. Then complete the activity below.
Don't forget to continue to practise your Year 1 and Year 2 common exception words, as well as spellings that will continue to be shared weekly on Spelling Shed.

Oxford Owl Reading is a library of books that you can share with your child each day. Your child should be reading for at least 10 minutes each day. If your child is in Year 1, they should be reading books from Phase 5, Set 13. If your child is in Year 2, they should be reading their colour book band. If you are not sure of your child's colour book band, please email your child's class teacher. TT Rockstars helps children to master times table and division fact instant recall. Numbots is aimed at boosting addition and subtraction skills. Spelling Shed makes spelling practice fun through lots of games. Oak Academy provides resources and activities for every subject. Purple Mash helps develop computing and digital skills through activities across a range of subjects. |
